Getting in the gym feels great, doesn't it?! The biggest battle is getting there. Once you are there, the rest is pretty much done. The energy of the gym and watching others working out is motivating.
So, your workout is done. You pushed yourself and really did great. You are going to feel it tomorrow. Your job is done. Go ahead and pat yourself on the back and enjoy the rest of your day.
And in two weeks....or a month....or a few months.....you can do it all again.
Oh wait....maybe that is just me. This is the cycle I, like many other people, have been on for years. I get all excited to start going to the gym again and I do great for a very brief time. I get firmer. I lose a few pounds. Then, one day comes where I worked more hours than normal or I get sick for a few days.
I tell myself its not a big deal if I miss my workout for one day. After all, I have been doing great. Then, I look up a week, or 5, later and I haven't been to the gym and the motivation I had is gone.
It is not long before the lost pounds have found their way back and brought a few of their friends with them. Something has to give. This was not the plan.
One of the things I am doing now is aligning with other women that are more than consistent with their workouts and have been for years now. They look great, feel great, and encourage others to join them.
I am in. My health needs it. I have realized, at the tender young age of 36, how much this consistency matters now more than ever. So, I have accepted a new mission to "Get it right, Get it tight."
I even created a Facebook page for accountability and encouragement. Join me by clicking here, liking the page, and posting your updates.. We can do this together! Our lives depend on it.
