Great Start for the Arizona Cardinals!

Arizona Cardinals fans are celebrating today after a well-executed season opener versus the Tennesse Titans!

In this 3rd season of the 2K (Kliff and Kyler) era, fans held high expectations for a strong start, and this team delivered!

The Cardinals' 38-13 win against a formidable Titans team is a statement of what is to come this season.

So, what were the difference makers today? Three things immediately come to mind.

1) Chandler Jones! - 5 Sacks

2) Kyler Murray - Versatility. How many tackles did Kyler break today to deliver seemingly impossible plays?

3) JJ Watt - This defense was fired up today and Watt's presence made a noticeable difference.

We can also easily discuss the greatness seen from DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore, and others.

It's your turn to sound off, Cardinals Fans:

  1. What did this starting game mean to you?
  2. What are your key takeaways?
  3. What are your expectations for next week's game against the Minnesota Vikings?

Let's talk bold predictions!

My First Children's Book

I am so excited to announce I have begun writing my first children's book. This has been a dream of mine for many years and it is coming true.

Here is the premise for the story I am writing:

  • Four boys between the ages of 8 and 10.
  • Their names are Kaden, Darius, Tommy, and Colin
  • Each kid has a different background.
  • The boys meet online playing a video game.
  • When it is time for school to start again, the boys are excited to find they are attending the same school.
  • They also soon learn the social aspect of attending school is much harder than it is when playing video games.

Through trial and error, the boys slowly learn the ups and downs of making friends, sharing concerns, and encouraging each other in their face-to-face environment.

While I have not given this book a title yet, I have been fascinated with the story taking a life of its own. I have changed things consistently and I continue to get more excited.

Stay tuned for updates!

"You're On Mute"

"You're on mute," is a phrase said in offices, schools, and other types  of meeting calls across the globe. It is especially prevalent during the global COVID pandemic.

During a conversation with friends this week, it occurred to me that this phrase can be used metaphorically.

When someone is on mute and they are attempting to speak, no one can hear them.

It reminds me of the many times someone is speaking audibly but their message is not being received, perhaps due to the way the message is being delivered.

I wrote something similar to this a few years back regarding my theories on why some people do not listen when you speak. During these times you are, metaphorically, on mute.

Check it out and let me know if anything from my prior post stands out in your personal or professional life.

Looking forward to reading your feedback!

My Two Cents on the Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and August Alsina Sitch

This is a private matter and none of the involved parties owe us anything.

We have way bigger fish to fry in the world right now. Get refocused.

It’s not Me, it’s You #BLM

With all the love and respect in my heart, I need anyone who refuses to get Black Lives Matter to expand your mind and reshape your thinking.

No matter how it is explained if you absolutely refuse to see that our house is on fire, I can’t have your energy around me or my family.

Yes, your life matters as much as mine but using that to reduce the statement that our lives matter makes you a part of the problem whether you realize it or not.

Let’s respectfully part ways. It’s not me, it’s you.

Good Little Black Girl

I’m finally allowing myself to cry. The pain is real and it’s raw. All my life I’ve tried to be “a good little black girl.” Don’t rock the boat. Don’t speak your mind. Don’t do or say anything that racists can use against other black people. I’m exhausted. I’m tired. I’m furious. I will be silent no more. Instead of a good little black girl, I will focus on being a strong black woman, who treats others with respect, and speaks out against injustices all. No more. Say goodbye to the good little black girl. She is a grown damn woman who has seen/heard/had enough!

Random Thought of the Day: Salon Pedicures

Not being able to go to the nail salon has caused me to think about how to give myself a quality pedicure. During that thought, it occurred to me that although the techs use liners on the tubs, they use the same tools on everyone without any type of cleaning in between. The same buffers, cuticle cutters, foot files, etc. And now I feel grossed out. Welp, guess I am doing my own moving forward.

Image displayed is from a completely random salon that I found online. I am not referring to this specific salon in my random thought of the day.
